  • Blog Entry the 37th - New Blog

    Hi everyone,

For this new year I've decided to open a new blog and do a little consolidation. No, I am not moving to blogger. =P Instead, I am using my own hosting. Don't worry if you don't understand what that means. Basically I'm not using Xanga, Blogger or Wordpress services. Rather, you could say I am now running my own blog. I am still using Wordpress as the blogging software though.

But enough about the technical details. I've been working on this new blog a bit and I think it's finally at some level of presentability. A lot of changes are probably still needed as I continue customizing it and working out some of the kinks. However, from now on I will stop updating the wordpress site and post new entries at this new blog. Eventually, I will close the Wordpress site altogether. I might update the Xanga account for those still using it but it might be a little slower.

Have a look for yourself at www.thinking-aloud.com

Do be gracious. Hehe. I do welcome your feedback though. Lastly, sorry for the inconvenience. I know this sudden surge of migrations have probably got some people pulling out their hair. =P Happy Chinese New Year!

  • Blog Entry the 35th - The Day Before

    Christmas.

Fill in the blank. It's the most ___________ time of the year. I had this thought while thinking of the song that starts with that chorus and thought(that's quite a bit of thinking in one sentence. :P) that I should be changing the "wonderful" to "wearisome" or "tiring" or "busiest" or "aggravating" or all the above. Anything but WONDERFUL. Unless it's wonderful in a sarcastic sense.

BUT. It's my choice as to what I want to fill in that blank with. Can this be the most wonderful time of the year? Yes, it CAN. (Obama slogan modified, haha) Not easy, I know (and God knows) it's hard. Sometimes I'm really bone tired. But aside from circumstances which are beyond my control anyway, the rest is really up to me. So YES, it's the most wonderful time of the year and I'm looking forward to tomorrow (with a sense of trepidation and nervousness as well) where it will be even more wonderful when people are welcomed into the kingdom of God. Let's outdo the party in heaven!

    Merry Christmas everyone. :)

Ps, this is the song I was referring to:

Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It's the most wonderful time of the year
    With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer"
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
    When friends come to call
It's the hap- happiest season of all

    There'll be parties for hosting
    Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
    There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
    Christmases long, long ago

It's the most wonderful time of the year
    There'll be much mistltoeing
    And hearts will be glowing
    When love ones are near
It's the most wonderful time of the year

    There'll be parties for hosting
    Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
    There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
    Christmases long, long ago

It's the most wonderful time of the year
    There'll be much mistltoeing
    And hearts will be glowing
    When love ones are near
    It's the most wonderful time
    It's the most wonderful time
    It's the most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time of the year
